Established in 2006, Electropubs S.A.R.L is a private limited company registered in France. Nigel Parker is the sole proprietor. Nigel is English but has lived in France for the past 17 years. He speaks fluent French as well as some German, Italian, and Spanish. Although originally trained as a programmer, Nigel entered the world of technical documentation immediately after leaving University, and has now accumulated more than 25 years of experience. His early career was spent working in Europe as a contract Technical Author for major computer industry players: Olivetti in Italy, IBM in Germany, and Hewlett-Packard in France.

It was while working as Documentation Manager for Information Consultants—Europe, a full service documentation and translation company based in Grenoble, France, that Nigel first became interested in structured documentation, document conversion, and single source publishing (producing multiple output formats from a single source). He subsequently left the company to become a self-employed technical author and consultant.

After a spell working in Switzerland, Nigel returned to France in 2006 to set up Electropubs.
